Job Summary
MES International is seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Administrator – Global Support to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end IT system support across all MES business units globally, primarily in a remote capacity. Initially, you will work closely with our external IT service provider to ensure seamless day-to-day support and infrastructure stability.
This hands-on role includes maintaining core IT infrastructure, managing cloud environments, supporting Microsoft 365 platforms, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and data protection standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset, and experience supporting distributed global teams in a fast-paced enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Support
- Provide Tier 1-3 IT support for all global business units (remote).
- Monitor and maintain core infrastructure (servers, virtual machines, network devices, storage systems, etc.).
- Administer Microsoft Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
- Configure and troubleshoot VPNs, firewalls, and endpoint connectivity.
Microsoft Office & Productivity Tools
- Manage and provide advanced support for Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, etc.).
- Administer licenses, policies, and integrations across Microsoft Office applications.
- Conduct end-user training and create SOPs for Microsoft applications.
SharePoint & Collaboration
- Design, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online sites for internal collaboration and document management.
- Implement automation workflows using Power Automate and Power Platform.
- Troubleshoot permission issues, content access, and integration errors.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Support the implementation and monitoring of cybersecurity tools (EDR, MFA, DLP, vulnerability scanning).
- Collaborate on internal and external audits to ensure IT compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar.
- Maintain documentation and renewals for relevant cybersecurity certifications.
- Regularly apply patches and updates to mitigate risks across all endpoints and servers.
Asset & License Management
- Maintain up-to-date asset inventory, software license tracking, and vendor management.
- Ensure procurement and disposal of IT assets complies with policy and security requirements.
IT Projects & Improvements
- Lead and participate in global IT rollouts, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, systems, or services to improve operations.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting tools (PowerShell, Python preferred).
User & Access Management
- Provision and deprovision users across systems with appropriate role-based access controls.
- Monitor login anomalies and assist with forensic analysis during incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years in IT support/system administration in a global or distributed environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Windows Server, and SharePoint Online.
- Proven experience with cybersecurity tools and supporting compliance initiatives.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work across multiple time zones and manage global stakeholders.
Skills and Competencies
- System Administration: Strong experience with Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, and virtual environments.
- Microsoft 365: Advanced knowledge of Exchange, Teams, SharePoint Online, and license management.
- Networking & Security: Proficient in VPNs, firewalls, endpoint protection, and security tools (EDR, MFA, DLP).
- Scripting & Automation: Skilled in PowerShell; Python preferred for task automation.
- Compliance Support: Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and IT audit processes.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
