Are you passionate about IT support and problem-solving?

We have a position for an IT Operations Engineer to join the team based at our Head Office in Doncaster.

Overall Purpose of Role

To provide 1st line (helpdesk) technical support to internal and external customers, assisting them with hardware and software problems via phone, email, or face to face.

IT Operations

  • To provide technical support answering support queries either face to face or via phone or email
  • To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
  • To take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues
  • Work closely with developers and infrastructure teams to solve problems in a timely fashion
  • Respond to enquiries from clients and help them resolve any hardware or software problems
  • Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice
  • To allocate more complex service issues to the relevant IT Support members
  • Configuring, PC’s Printers, PDA’s
  • Creating User accounts
  • Checking backup logs
  • Documenting changes to user permissions

Person Specification

  • Relevant 1st line / Helpdesk support
  • Troubleshooting Microsoft Office
  • Excellent telephone manner and face to face communication skills

Knowledge

  • Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows desktop technologies
  • Basic understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration
  • Server and Active Directory

Qualifications/Certificates/Education

  • Relevant IT Qualification

Personal Qualities/Other

  • Exceptional Communication skills- ability to communicate effectively with anyone in any environment
