Job Summary

This position is suitable for early-career professionals with a background in financial management and an interest in supporting business operations. Attention to detail and motivation are required to assist the business management team in ensuring the technology department operates efficiently in areas such as financial management, recruitment, reporting, and contributing to the team's objectives. The role provides an opportunity to develop skills in budgeting, forecasting, and departmental oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Support financial planning activities and ensure accurate tracking of expenditures and cost allocations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage invoicing, purchase orders, and financial reconciliations.
  • Maintain financial records and assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Assist with organising team meetings, events, and communications (like town halls).
  • Coordinate recruitment activities and help onboard new team members.
  • Support resource planning and help track project requests and actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.

Relevant experience:

  • Understanding of financial reporting, experience of invoice tracking and reconciliations of budgets.
  • Prior experience as a business support or office support would be beneficial.
  • Proven track record of managing departmental budgets and forecasting.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Enjoy working with data and have a good eye for detail.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to streamline process and implement best practices to improve office efficiency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.

Education & Experience

Essential

  • Microsoft 365 proficient and financial software.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.

  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
