What You'll Do

Member of the staffing team are responsible and accountable for supporting the L-A-B (London, Amsterdam, Brussels) staffing team with implementation of the people deployment and staffing strategy, balancing both short term and long term priorities including managing and implementing shifting priorities when required by business needs.

Staffing Duties To Include (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Work with Partners & L-A-B staffing team to achieve optimum deployment of Consultants
  • Monitor and manage billability of Consultants, highlight emerging peaks and troughs, take appropriate measures in collaboration Staffing Manager
  • Meet regularly with Consultants to understand their staffing needs and advise them of current cases, also understanding their goals and preferences and expertise
  • Communicate daily with relevant Staffing Manager to understand staffing pipeline and needs of business
  • Prepare and run the weekly staffing pipeline meetings / calls
  • Maintain accurate records of staffing assignments and pipeline
  • Work closely with staffing counterparts across the system to ensure cases are staffed appropriately across all levels and offices
  • Communicate the staffing process with MDPs and consultants to maintain up-to-date view of the project pipeline and the needs of the business.
  • Support and promote cross office staffing when relevant
  • Work with training team to understand schedule and availability of staff
  • Provide general holiday cover to staffing team when required
  • Produce reports and updates as required
  • Attending CDC (Career Development Committee) meetings for Consultants
  • Provide input to CDC meetings and action next steps as relevant for staffing
  • Working with CDC and broader HR team to manage exceptional staffing where relevant (e.g. staff returning from LOA, personnel issues etc)
  • Additional projects as required

What You'll Bring

  • 3-5 years of relevant staffing experience
  • University degree and demonstrated high academic achievement
  • Excellent English skills (verbal and written communication)
  • Numerate
  • International work experience is a value-add

You're Good At

Technical / functional expertise, customer and business focus:

  • Understanding of the consulting business, and the nature of work we do with clients
  • Proficiency in all standard software used at BCG (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Trello …)

  • A ‘can do’ attitude, creative problem-solving skills and tenacity to find solutions

  • Able to prioritise effectively and work closely with colleagues to respond to the large number of requests the team receive
  • Patience, maturity and sensitivity to listen to and deal with complex issues
  • Self-motivated, works independently and takes initiative

Who You'll Work With

The individual will be mainly but not exclusively responsible and accountable for staffing and billability of Consultants in the London office working closely with their counterparts and reporting into the LON A-C Staffing Manager.
