Due to an increasing portfolio of emerging projects in NGV’s business, we are seeking to grow the Lands and Consents team (L&C) which operates across NGV’s diverse portfolio of low carbon and renewable energy projects. You’ll play a senior role in a team of creative and passionate people, with expertise in planning and consenting major infrastructure projects.


As a Lands and Consents Coordinator, you’ll use your knowledge to facilitate delivery of the L&C project milestones to programme, scope and budget. Acting as part of a team of surveyors, planning and environmental professionals, you’ll coordinate the delivery of each L&C related workstream. This role provides the opportunity to blend specialist technical knowledge with a project management and leadership skillset.

In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to travelling to either our London or Warwick office on a monthly basis. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.


Key accountabilities

  • Project manage L&C delivery on your allocated project, to time cost and quality.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists within the L&C team to optimise delivery and ensure risks and issues are identified and mitigated/managed.
  • Contract management of L&C appointed consultants and contract staff within your allocated project.
  • Coordinate reporting and communication with the wider multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Play a role in the development of the L&C team – developing technical strategies and managing members of the team.
  • Interface with management and Senior Leadership to demonstrate project delivery status and action plans.


About you

  • Proven track record of delivering consenting or surveying aspects of major energy infrastructure projects (TCPA or DCO); preferably subterrestrial cable infrastructure.
  • Current and comprehensive knowledge of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and Planning Act 2008.
  • Understanding of compulsory acquisition practices and land rights.
  • Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams and consents or lands workstreams.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering projects to programme, scope and budget.
  • Experience in positively managing stakeholder relationships and contracts with consultants.
  • Ability to lead and coach a team to allow them to meet their full potential.
  • Degree or equivalent in Town Planning, Environmental Planning or Surveying.
  • Professional Membership of an accredited body such as; the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI), the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (MIEMA) or the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).


What you'll get

A competitive salary between £52,000 - £65,000 – dependent on capability.
