This is the job
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Business Analyst to join our IT Delivery Group. In this role, you will be pivotal in delivering projects and change initiatives across AA’s Insurance, Road, and Group functions. You will lead a team of skilled Business Analysts, managing resources, providing coaching and mentoring, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What will I be doing?
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of Business Analysts, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Community Engagement: Champion and encourage engagement within the business analyst community of practice.
- Process Improvement: Support the Head of Business Analysis in refining and improving business analysis artefacts, models, and standards.
- Hands-On Analysis: Capture, analyse, and document business requirements, ensuring high-quality delivery through IT change projects.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Delivery and Portfolio Leads, Product Owners, and business teams to understand and document current and future business processes and requirements.
- Project Management: Engage with Product and business owners to ensure core requirements are documented and delivered.
- Technical Understanding: Act as a bridge between business, developers, and test teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements.
What do I need?
- Demonstrated experience in line managing a team of Business Analysts, leading by example with both strategic and hands-on approaches.
- Essential experience in Financial Services/FCA regulated environments, with a strong preference for Insurance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with diverse stakeholders at various seniority levels within a large organisation.
- Strong familiarity with the IT software development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies (Agile & Waterfall).
- Proficiency in tools such as Jira, MS Azure, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Analytical and logical thinker, dedicated to continuous improvement and building positive working relationships, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
