Role description
Our Advisory Business Partners are the critical two-way link between the business and our Learning and Development teams. As a key member of the team, your role contributes true value to the bottom line and is recognised as essential for short and long-term strategic business planning. Your responsibilities span the employee life cycle inclusive of the talent agenda, so you are a true partner to the Capability-aligned HR community. Collaboration across our operating model is a key feature of how you will deliver impactful results
Reporting to the Senior Learning Business Partner, you will build trusted advisor relationships with senior stakeholders in your business super service lines. Using your knowledge and experience of the core learning and HR competencies, coupled with your commercial awareness, you will translate your clients’ business needs into realistic and achievable solutions that reflect the learning strategy and deliver impact. It’s a fast paced and changing environment. Working closely with Design and Delivery teams you will ensure the technical training remains on track and on budget. You will be a role model for collaboration to those around you; influencing, coaching, motivating and challenging.
Responsibilities:
Planning
- Building trusted advisor relationships with business stakeholders in the business unit/Capability area/Super Service line.
- Understanding and driving implementation of a business-specific learning strategy aligned to Advisory, Talent and Learning CoE strategy.
- Lead the planning and participation of an annual learning needs analysis in Advisory under ISQM1, to develop an understanding of the current and future learning needs (including on-going projects, issues, business drivers, etc.), enabling greater clarity around key issues and the development of effective L&D solutions.
- Working with the SLBP on the annual budget process.
- Representing learning on relevant management committee structures within the business unit/Capability and influencing the agenda to ensure that the learning business case is fulfilled.
Management
- Translating the view of the business to be reflected in firm-wide learning projects for design and delivery to ensure business solutions are innovative, practical and aligned to business strategy and objectives.
- As a learning expert, lead on business unit/Capability projects, and represent the business on projects for business-driven technical curriculum, participate in design and delivery project meetings to ensure alignment with client needs.
- Manage the scheduling and implementation and deployment of technical training, working closely with Enablement and KLS
- Identify and manage/coordinate SME’s to work within the Design & Delivery construct and ensure end product is fit for purpose and delivered within budget and timeframes.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the business area to ensure all mandatory training is fulfilled.
Operational excellence
- Analyse and report on key learning data and support quality compliance under ISQM1, provide meaningful management information to the business unit/Capability for learning consumption and quality/risk purposes. measure the effectiveness of learning and support the achievement of its goals.
- Work closely with the SLBP to monitor and manage the Advisory learning budget
- Facilitate on internal capability learning and manage external suppliers and third-party providers
- Monitor the business case shift from F2F learning for technical training towards a blend of digital/virtual.
- Conduct, manage and measure the impact of learning campaigns.
- Ensure the technical learning curriculum, and wider suite of development solutions, remains relevant and is able to adapt to changing business requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Design & Delivery teams to ensure the business agenda for technical training remains on track and aligned to the Learning business case goals
- Escalate Design issues where stakeholders are falling behind on partnering to convey content requirements.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience at manager level and have a proven track record in Business Partnering.
- Professional training/learning and development/education qualifications
- Adept at communicating, influencing, coaching, educating, challenging and managing senior stakeholders.
- Confident facilitator, able to lead programmes with senior audiences
- Strong financial management/commercial acumen.
- Evidence of CPD and up to date knowledge on learning strategy
- Ability to understand and develop effective L&D and OD strategies while understanding the implications from a culture, business success and company practice standpoint.
- The ability to translate client business needs into realistic and achievable plans in collaboration with the wider learning function.
- The ability to role model collaboration, and consult confidently, effectively and independently with senior levels of the organisation.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to address diverse organisational stakeholders at all levels.
