Brief Description

If so, we want you to be a part of Network Rail’s exceptional Training, Design and Development team! We are looking for a Learning Designer to join the team in York on a Permanent basis.
About The Role (External)
Role: Learning Designer
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: York Holgate Depot ( Travel is required within this role to other Network Rail location - travel will be company funded).

Main Responsibilities of a Learning Designer:
- Analyse training, assessment, and assurance requirements using approved Network Rail tools and practices to create innovative and cost-effective training solutions.
- Meeting prevailing organisational imperatives and learner needs.
- Provide instructional design expertise for the analysis, design and implementation of learning and assurance solutions to agreed time, budget, and quality standards.
- Design for learning use in online, virtual, blended, or face-to-face events that also may include embedded technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) or digital simulation.
- Lead training design workshops to agree design specifications, technical requirements, and deliverables.
- Comply with Network Rail safety, branding, design, accessibility, and diversity and inclusion policies as well as technical guidelines.
- Communicate project progress as required.
- Manage and assure the work of training design suppliers for time, cost, and quality and to take all necessary steps to integrate their work seamlessly with other design components.
- Continuously review the effectiveness of analysis and design activities to identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency, incorporating lessons learned into future projects.
- Proactively research new training delivery methodologies and demonstrate application of this knowledge when evaluating training design options.
What would make the Ideal Candidate?
- Demonstrable experience in designing, developing, and implementing creative learning and development solutions.
- Demonstrable experience in creating learning solutions across a diverse range of disciplines and delivery methods.
- Experience of successful customer/stakeholder relationship management skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate personal accountability when striving for results, whilst consistently role-modelling core behaviours of collaboration and customer-centred decision making.
- Assess and challenge risky or unsafe actions,
- Ability to travel to meet and discuss with customers their requirements in various locations
What could set you apart when applying?
- A learning and development qualification (e.g. CIPD)
- Knowledge of the railway industry or a related engineering discipline
- A relevant project management qualification (e.g. APM)
