About The Role

To manage a caseload of learners undertaking the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare. Providing advice, guidance and support and completing fair and reliable assessment of knowledge skills and performance against occupational standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and agree assessment plans for each learner in accordance with the award assessment strategy.
  • Maintain regular contact and on-site visits with learners
  • Undertake workplace assessment against occupational standards using a variety of methods including direct observation.
  • Mentor learners throughout the programme and assist with development of a portfolio of evidence.
  • Prepare learning materials and deliver portfolio workshops.
  • Plan and implement learner progress reviews in line with assessment centre requirements.
  • Act as an ambassador for the learning and development team, working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure learner outcomes are met and manage any concerns in a timely manner.
  • Complete all necessary documentation to the standard required and maintain accurate records on VQM, ensuring timelines are met.
  • Attend networking and standardisation meetings to ensure awareness of current developments in own subject area and maintain occupational competence.
  • Maintain a record of own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in compliance with internal and external verification requirements.
  • Work within the Kisimul Group policies and procedures and other appropriate awarding bodies /Assessment centre quality assurance systems.
  • Provide support for the development, delivery and evaluation of face to face training programmes if required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable activity suited to your qualifications and experience as requested by the Learning and Development Manager

About You

Essentials for the role

  • Level 3 Trainer/ Learning and Development Qualification.
  • Assessor Award.
  • Sector relevant qualification e.g. Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare/ Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
  • Relevant work-based experience within residential childcare and/or supporting children/adults with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
  • Experience of working in a learning and development environment with responsibility for development, delivery and evaluation of face to face training programmes and supporting learners to achieve vocational qualifications.
  • Experience working at a supervisory level
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory regulations and frameworks within health and social care.
  • Comprehensive understanding of vocational qualifications and quality frameworks
  • Ability to problem solve and provide workable solutions
  • Knowledge and application of adult learning theories.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and across services and departments building effective working relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills including use of Microsoft Office/365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)

  • Understanding of and commitment to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion
  • A valid driving licence and access to a car is required with the ability to travel to various service locations.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of learners within care and education services which may require working outside of typical office hours at times.

  • Knowledge of training requirements and standards in the Social Care sector for both Adults and Children
