Role overview

This role forms part of the international cashiering team and is responsible for managing financial transactions across office and client accounts. The position ensures all activity complies with relevant regulations, including the SRA Accounts Rules, while supporting smooth and efficient financial operations across the firm.


Key activities/responsibilities

  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of both office and client accounts, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain strict compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules and internal financial procedures at all times.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the bank system to confirm all receipts are processed and fee earners are notified appropriately.
  • Assist and liaise with the firm’s bankers on both client and office account matters.
  • Process supplier and professional disbursement invoices.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate payment of invoices in accordance with supplier terms.
  • Reconcile and maintain supplier accounts.
  • Collate and process corporate credit card transactions and monthly statements.
  • Manage and process weekly expense claims from fee earners and business support staff.
  • Liaise with the billing team to support financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with the firm’s annual audit, including preparation and collation of supporting information.
  • Support the reconciliation, processing, and training needs of international offices when required.
  • Ensure all client account transactions are handled in line with regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Carry out additional ad hoc tasks as directed by the Cashier Supervisor.


Skills and experience – desired

  • Proven experience as a Legal Cashier, including handling of client account transactions.
  • Strong understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules and financial compliance requirements.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Escrows is desirable but not necessary.
