We are seeking an experienced asset management lawyer to join as a permanent member of the Legal team within M&G, providing legal advice and sound commercial risk assessments on legal issues, with a focus on advising our Life Investment Office.
Key Responsibilities
The role encompasses a broad range of legal skills, covering legal advisory, transaction structuring and execution, drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, regulatory work and supporting the company’s strategic projects.
Job & Personal Skills:
This role will cover legal advisory, structuring, product building, transaction execution and supporting key corporate and regulatory change projects.
Key competencies:
- A deep understanding of the asset/portfolio management sector, with a focus on buy-side and institutional experience. Ideally you will have a strong understanding of alternatives and private assets. Experience of private debt / credit would be helpful but not essential.
- Proven capability in managing external/opposing counsel interactions and capable of building and developing relationships with key internal stakeholders.
- Capable of acting as business partner to the relevant business teams.

- Intellectually curious with a desire to learn and develop their skills

Qualifications
Qualified lawyer (there is no requirement that the candidate must be English qualified)
Knowledge & Experience
- Qualified lawyer with 4+ years PQE, with experience in private practice, or in-house in the asset management space.
- Strong academic credentials
