The Role

The Role

We're looking for a talented Legal Counsel to be a key player in our growing legal team, someone who's not just great at the law, but thrives on working at the heart of a fast-paced, high-impact business. You'll be the face of the legal function, working closely with leaders across the company, and helping shape how we operate, scale, and innovate.

This is a high-visibility role with broad exposure, ideal for a proactive and commercially-minded solicitor ready to take ownership and make a tangible difference.

What you'll be doing:

You'll be a trusted advisor across the business, supporting key teams and projects including Capital Markets, Product, Sales, Risk, Marketing, Finance and HR. Here's what your day-to-day could look like:

  • Lead on a wide range of commercial contracts, including partnerships, SaaS agreements, distribution deals, marketing collaborations, and vendor contracts
  • Support and advise on structured finance transactions and securitisations linked to our lending products
  • Draft and maintain our product terms and conditions and customer-facing legal documents
  • Provide guidance on guarantees, security and subordination related to our loan and invoice finance products
  • Advise on equity fundraises, shareholder agreements, and manage legal and regulatory due diligence
  • Oversee corporate governance, including board minutes, resolutions, and Companies House filings
  • Ensure our internal policies and compliance frameworks are up-to-date, particularly in data protection and regulation
  • Help manage our Share Option Scheme
  • Support enforcement actions, including pre-litigation strategy and letters before action
  • Work with external counsel on areas such as litigation, employment law, IP, data protection, and regulatory matters

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' post qualified experience, ideally from a top-tier law firm in corporate or banking. In-house experience is a big plus
  • A sharp legal mind with great attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Commercially savvy and solutions-focused—you're just as interested in the ‘why' as the ‘what'
  • Proven ability to run complex projects with lots of moving parts
  • A multitasker who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • A strong communicator with a collaborative, team-first mindset
  • A self-starter—eager to learn, grow and make an impact in the FinTech world

Benefits

Not only will you have the opportunity to make a huge impact at one of the UK's leading FinTech companies, you will also have access to:

  • 60 days work from abroad allowance
  • A great office in the heart of Shoreditch (complete with roof terrace, ping pong, and beer fridge), to help collaboration and in-person innovation time
  • Lunches provided on in-office days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) plus monthly breakfast treats
  • Private health coverage and discounted gym memberships
  • Amazon Kindle and book purchase allowance
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity leave
  • 25 days of annual leave per year, plus your Birthday off
  • Access to Tate Modern Exhibitions
