About the company & role


A major player in the luxury hospitality industry has an opening for a Legal Counsel to support the Global Head of Legal (Commercial) in a wide ranging role with significant development opportunity. The position will support the business globally on all commercial legal issues including IP/IT/Privacy as well as Compliance and notably Marketing and PR related contracts.


On top of this, there is opportunity for this role to take project lead on Legal Processes for this high performing legal function (looking at both Legal Operations and process design for the function with support from the Head of Legal and Global General Counsel).


The position also has the unique opportunity of direct line management of a trainee (you will be supported by the Head of Legal and General Counsel in developing your people management experience.


With new offices in central London this is an opportunity to surround yourself with experienced lawyers as well as supporting a trainee in their own career development; it’s therefore envisaged that you will spend 3 days per week in the office.


What’s on offer?


This is a significant opportunity for someone only a few years into their career to experience line management, developing legal ops expertise and a wide ranging commercial legal role in a desirable sector.


The line manager and wider team are all high-calibre lawyers with strong legal training and significant in-house experience. They will support you in your legal and management development.


A provisional budget has been set of £85,000 + bonus as well as additional corporate benefits which includes significant discounts on luxury holidays and travel.


About you


It is likely you will have strong training from the Corporate/Commercial team of a high calibre law firm (or in-house equivalent in a high performing legal function) as well as either secondment or in-house experience (those in private practice without secondments are still encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate a distinct motivation to move in-house and get closer to a business).


For guidance purposes only, you are likely to have at least 3 years of PQE in England & Wales.
