SSQ are pleased to partner with a large, high-profile Investment Fund who are expanding its team. Seeking a Tax lawyer with experience running transactions across credit, debt and alternative funds and is used to fast paced work. Our client are a friendly, impressive team of investors based in the centre of the City.

Role responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting the Head of Investment Tax in our London office and will be responsible for managing & overseeing all the investment projects from a tax perspective
• Act as a key point of contact between tax & legal advisors, internal teams, ensuring seamless project completion.
• Provide tax advisory and tax compliance support on private markets investments, including Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Alternative Credit
• Supporting the Head of Investment tax in managing and overseeing the global tax affairs of our investment portfolio ensuring smooth and timely completion.
• Act as a subject matter expert on tax matters, assessing the impact on the group’s investments and working with the various stakeholders on identifying and managing the tax risk in legal documents.
• Challenge advisors and make risk-based decisions to unblock issues, with proven influencing, persuading and negotiation skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders.

Experience required:

• 5+ years experience in investment fund tax
• Significant transaction, investment or tax for pension funds experience in an accounting firm, law firm or multinational corporate
• Professional accounting or legal qualifications appropriate to a tax role
• Relevant tax experience of working on Alternative Investment Funds
