About our Legal team:
The RHDHV global legal team consists of 25 skilled professionals, including legal counsel, insurance specialists, paralegals, and a secretariat. This collegial team spans across several continents with specialists across the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Poland, Indonesia, and Australia, collectively striving to uphold RHDHV’s legal position.
Due to the expansion of our UK operations, we are looking to strengthen the UK legal team which currently comprises a legal counsel and paralegal, by welcoming an additional legal counsel.
This position extends beyond merely providing legal advice; you will become an integral legal business partner throughout the various stages of our national and international projects. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating legal complexities and driving successful outcomes.
Job Role:
As a legal counsel you will manage a varied and challenging portfolio of legal documentation relating to Royal HaskoningDHV’s projects. You will have direct involvement with project teams and line management to provide high-quality legal advice in an efficient, value-added, and approachable manner in alignment with business/client priorities.
Embrace the challenge of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide array of bespoke and standard consultant services agreements, warranties, and joint venture contracts for UK and international projects.
Some other key responsibilities through which you will make an impact on our projects are:
- Identify and address risks in the business operations with a strategic mindset, ensuring alignment with our internal corporate policies, while seizing commercial opportunities that each transaction presents in an innovative manner.
- Collaborate with our global legal team to drive the design and implementation of innovative legal processes.
- Participating in merger and acquisitions (due diligence).
- Provide insightful advice on emerging legal trends and regulations that may influence Royal HaskoningDHV's strategic operations.
- Educate and train project managers and line management to ensure that they have the required understanding of the various risks related to the business, instil sound business practice and ensure adherence to corporate governance principles.
- Handle claims and disputes, acting as the link between external lawyers and project managers when necessary.

This job might be right for you if you have:
- a university master’s degree in law and
- a minimum of 3-5 years of legal experience, either as an attorney within a reputable law firm and/or as in-house legal counsel, preferably within an international organisation.
- demonstrated experience in a multinational engineering consultancy firm or contractor is our strong preference.
