Description
We are looking for a talented, customer obsessed and experienced Legal Counsel to join our EMEA Operations Legal team, based in London. As Last Mile Legal Counsel you will be responsible for providing legal advice to Amazon’s fast-growing delivery business. The role requires high judgement, acumen and ability to think out of the box to adjust the legal framework to novel and unprecedented situations and business expansion plans.
Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on the day-to-day management of, and expansion projects in, the last mile sector in UK, Ireland and other geographies, providing guidance for senior executives and other business and legal team members on novel and unprecedented legal and regulatory matters. The role will also involve drafting and negotiating agreements with key partners through a variety of agreement types, handling litigation, and developing strategies for regulatory engagement.
A day in the life
You will be the primary legal counsel for senior leadership in the last mile business including European leadership.
You will closely work with local and international business functions to address their legal needs and challenges.
As member of the EMEA Last Mile legal team you will have the possibility to exchange views and collaborate with international colleagues on a daily basis.

Basic Qualifications
- Exceptional academic qualifications.
- Qualified to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales
- A minimum of 6+ years post-qualification legal experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- In house experience will be a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to act as a business partner to senior management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines.
- Sound and practical judgment, even in ambiguous situations, and comfort making high-quality decisions quickly and with limited information.
