Join our Team as a Library & Information Specialist at Lucideon!

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and analytical Library & Digital Support Officer to join our Information Services team on a part time basis.

Role Purpose

Our Information Services team is unique in so many ways; providing timely, efficient, added value resource to both inform business decisions and support Technology Partners in their R&D activities, utilising methodologies and resources from our collections, putting research questions into context, and identifying possible gap(s) in current knowledge for further research. As a Library & Information Specialist at Lucideon, you would play a critical role in the Information Services Team. It is vital that any applicants for this role have experience in an information services / library role, with a technical / scientific background.

Key Responsibilities

• Configuration and optimisation of library systems, processes and services
• Collection management and development including book ordering and cataloguing
• Connecting with internal & external clients to deliver content and services required to support their work/R&D
• Providing literature searches to support R&D both internally and externally
• Providing insights to internal teams on current trends, e.g., articles/events of interest to the business.
• Keeping up to date on professional skills and library best practice and its application to Lucideon to ensure that we are positioned to take advantage of new developments (e.g., AI), working practices, and alternative sources of content/best value.

Qualifications

• STEM-based qualification.
• CILIP accreditation desirable but not mandatory.
• Postgraduate Library or Information Science qualification desirable but not mandatory
  
  

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

• Experience working in a library or information service is vital
• Interest in science / research
• Computer literate
• Experience in carrying out literature/evidence searches with the ability to make recommendations
• Ability to work to deadlines, manage own workload and set priorities
• Excellent communication skills
