Life Practitioner to join our well-established Children’s Residential Home team at
Tigh Abaid.
Located in the peaceful rural village of
Langford, within the
Newark and Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire.
About The Role
As a
Life Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with complex needs. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity for those who are passionate, resilient, and motivated to make a genuine difference. Key Responsibilities
- Actively safeguard and promote the wellbeing of the young people in our care, working collaboratively with the wider staff team.
- Engage in a variety of enriching and inclusive recreational activities, both within the home and in the wider community.
- Support day-to-day living, including practical tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and household duties.
- Build meaningful, respectful, and trusting relationships with the young people—offering them consistent support and dignity at all times.
- Respond to and meet the individual physical, emotional, behavioural, and cultural needs of each young person.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date records in accordance with care plans and organisational procedures.
- Monitor, review, and adapt support in line with the evolving needs of the young people.
- Positively contribute to team development and a supportive working culture.

About You
What experience and qualifications do you need:
- A genuine passion for care and to be motivated by contributing to the progression of others.
- A strong team player
- Resilience to keep going at difficult times and to ask for support if needed
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer literacy
- A Diploma Level 3 in Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) or a willingness to complete this qualification within a fixed timeframe.
