Role description:
Arcadis are looking to recruit an Equipment and Logistics Technician to support our Geotechnical, Geoenvironmental and Environmental Planning Operations across the UK. This is considered an entry level position providing an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of working with the field of ground investigation and ecological surveys.
The successful candidate will work alongside experience teams located in our Depot in
Gloucester supporting the maintenance and distribution of equipment and materials necessary for the delivery of our projects. This role will involve inventory management, equipment maintenance, transportation coordination, and adherence to safety standards. The technician plays a critical role in supporting operational and project-based activities by ensuring that all necessary resources are available and functioning properly.
Whilst the role will be based at our new Gloucester Depot periodic travel to sites or Arcadis other store locations across the UK may be required. Reasonable expenses associated with this travel will be reimbursed in line with Arcadis’ expense policy.
Role accountabilities:
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Equipment Management:
- Maintenance of equipment to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with regulations.
- Track and monitor, equipment usage, servicing schedules and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records and inventory.
- Ensure appropriate storage and handling of equipment.
Logistics Operations:
- Plan and coordinate the transportation, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment.
- Work across project teams to optimize transportation routes and minimize costs.
Inventory and Supply Chain:
- Record inventory levels to ensure operational needs are met without overstocking.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all equipment and logistics activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Assist in the development and work in line with risk assessments and safety protocols.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with operations, procurement, and project teams to align logistics strategies with organizational goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant vocational qualification(s) are advantageous, but A Level Qualifications are the minimum required.
- Valid Driver’s Licence required and those with additional plant operation (i.e Forklift) tickets would be preferable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Motivated and able to work independently.
- Effective time management skills.
