Imperial Brands is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking
Machine Design Engineer to join our inclusive and innovative global FMCG team. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the design and development of next-generation machinery, collaborating closely with R&D, Supply Chain, and external partners to bring bold ideas to life. Principle Accountabilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of projects focused on the development and optimisation of new machinery and manufacturing processes.
- Manage cross-functional projects to design, develop, and refine equipment for producing innovative consumer goods formats.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with defined quality standards.
- Develop and implement technical strategies for machinery design, material selection, and technology integration to support R&D initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align process design with business objectives and enhance innovation capabilities.
- Uphold compliance with regulatory and quality standards, maintain ISO 9001 documentation, and deliver training on procedural updates.
Skills & Experience Required
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
- Possess a minimum of five years’ experience in product development within industrial systems.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale research and development (R&D) projects.
- Skilled in the design and optimisation of manufacturing machinery and systems.
- Proficient in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
