The Role
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, including carpentry, tiling, plumbing, and overseeing contractor work. You will ensure all maintenance activities are completed to a high standard and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct general property maintenance, including carpentry, tiling, door/window repairs, and more.
- Install and repair gutter and drainpipe systems.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs.
- Source materials from local suppliers and manage contractor work when required.
- Provide support to colleagues, covering absences and offering on-call assistance.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and health and safety regulations.
- Complete any additional tasks or responsibilities as requested by management.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a professional with:
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools.
- Expertise in building trades such as carpentry, plastering, or tiling.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Proven experience in a similar role and a basic understanding of current building regulations.
- Strong practical ability, attention to detail, and numeracy skills for measuring and making calculations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
