Job Purpose
As a Maintenance Planner at United Utilities, you will prioritise safety in all your planning activities by proactively identifying hazards for thoughts corrective maintenance tasks.
Additionally, you will develop and issue maintenance plans for assets within your designated area to ensure they are completed effectively and efficiently.
Job Accountabilities
- Request spares, materials, and services; add materials to work orders.
- Confirm specifications and build job plans with dependencies identified.
- Review new corrective work and prioritise accordingly.
- Plan asset downtime to minimise disruption.
- Maintain and continuously improve maintenance job plans.
- Adapt maintenance plans with operations and engineers for reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning processes.
- Collaborate with scheduling colleagues on executable schedules.
- Participate in planning meetings for maintenance plans.
- Request asset availability for proactive maintenance; report on failed opportunities.
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role you will need to be qualified to either HNC or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in a Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation engineering discipline and have a detailed engineering background.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
- Extensive maintenance knowledge to accurately estimate labour hours, materials, and skills for jobs.
- Knowledge of plant operations, equipment, and Health and Safety processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of SAP, MARS, work orders, and maintenance planning.
- Skilled in root cause and failure analysis.
- Excellent planning skills, maximising resource/asset availability.
- Strong communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Awareness of industry Safety Standards and work authorisation.
Please note: a full valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
