The Major Events Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth planning and running of each race day at Chester and Bangor on Dee Racecourse as well as non-racing events. This position is the perfect fit for someone who can contribute innovative ideas to the creation and conceptualism of major events.

General Responsibilities Include
- Develop and implement detailed event management plans, including schedules, logistics, and staffing for all race days and major events
- Manage event budgets and track expenditures to ensure cost-effective event delivery
- Coordinate with internal teams, external suppliers, contractors, and performers to ensure seamless execution
- Ensure high-quality guest service standards are met throughout all events
- Respond to guest feedback and ensure continuous improvement of event experiences
- Ensure the racecourse is fully prepared and meets all technical, operational, and safety requirements for each event
- Coordinate site logistics, including event set-up, crowd management, transportation, and parking
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including risk assessments, crowd control measures, and emergency plans
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events and enhance attendance
- Conduct debriefs with event teams and stakeholders to evaluate event success and areas for improvement
The Successful Major Events Manager Will Have The Following
- Previous experience in event management and working large scale events
- Experience in writing event plans and managing complex budgets
- Ability to conceptualise new event ideas and choreography entertainment
- Good time management with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- A dedicated and hardworking attitude
- Highly organised

Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours of work:
37.5 hours per week, standard working hours are 09:00-17:00.
Evening and weekend work is expected in line with business needs.
This role is based in Chester with occasional travel in the UK and therefore a reliable commute to Chester city centre is essential.
