Life As a Manager, Team Operations
This role focuses on the vision, strategy, support, growth and development of a group of Office Operational teams, leadership, and cross-functional teams across three markets within UK&I. This individual reports into the Director, Operations to support the key business rhythms needed to ensure effective execution. In addition, this person will build relationships across the organisation to advise on relevant execution of Office Operations high quality solutions and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Set the strategy and vision for Team Operation programs including: recognition, connection/ people experience, internal events, customer events, onboarding and communications to ensure operational efficiency and quality service
- Demonstrate values-based leadership, and actively work to mentor and coach direct reports
- Coach in-market Office Operations teams varying in size (1 to 3+) in all areas of Office Operations including, executive support, day-of event execution, venue/supplier negotiations, budgeting, supplier coordination, on-site event setup, etc.
- Strategic partner with regional leadership, business operations, other program managers and stakeholders within UKI market
- Partner with Regional President on special projects
- Own and monitor budgets, setting expectations for spending
- Review and audit all Office Operations ways of working locally and region-wide to ensure cross-cultural relevance and ensure adoption
- Serve as a steward and expert of Slalom culture programs for markets in effort to continue to be a “Best Place to Work”
- With support from the Director and Global Team Operations peers, implement key initiatives on behalf of the Global Services Operations team
- Build relationships with peers to foster communication, share best practices, and learn from one another and their global practices
- Promote our people first mentality, encourage well-being and being an advocate for diversity & Inclusion across our teams
What You’ll Bring
- Strong background and experience in a fast paced and challenging work environment leading [office] operations, project management, and event management in a high-paced environment (in-person, hybrid, and remote)
- Scrupulous attention to detail, able to develop and maintain highly organised work environment
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and influence within all levels of an organisation, particularly senior leadership
- You take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, seek-to-understand, high energy, and an enthusiasm to overcome.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously, while remaining flexible and consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Solution-oriented
- SharePoint experience welcomed but not required
- Proven ability to exercise high degree of confidentiality and objectivity
- Willingness and ability to travel within region at minimum 25% p. quarter
