Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will be part of a team that designs and implements an organisation’s production processes. Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for maintaining and improving the efficiency and quality of the production processes to produce a better product, at a lower cost and improve the profitability of an organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- To work alongside our New Product Development team to ensure successful launch of new products into mass production, including:
- Driving best practise design for manufacture and assembly
- Determining the most efficient build sequence and assembly line layout
- Authoring standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Design and manufacture of bespoke tooling, jigs and fixtures o Author and update PFMEA documentation
- Conducting trial build events both virtually and physically
- Drive continuous improvement on all current processes and products
- Support issue resolution through effecting problem solving on existing production lines
Skills And Experience Required
- The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in an engineering field (such as mechanical, chemical engineering, electrical or manufacturing).
- Good interpersonal skills
- A positive attitude with an eagerness to learn
- Have a keen interest in manufacturing and engineering
- Able to communicate effectively
- Aptitude for learning new techniques
- Capable of prioritising and multi-tasking
- Capable of working to agreed schedules
- Capable of working as part of a multi-functional team
- Ability to problem solve
