Job Description
We are recruiting a Market Settlements Administrator to join our team of administrators. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate administration of trade settlements, regulatory reporting to the FCA, and management of certificated deposits.
Market Settlements is a department within the Custody division, consisting of two teams: Crest Settlement and Clearstream Settlement. The administrator is expected to manage their assigned workload, perform intraday task management, and collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure the team's tasks are completed efficiently. As an operations role, it is crucial that the process is executed to a high standard to ensure the ongoing success of AJ Bell.
What does the job involve?
- Oversee trade records within the back-office system, ensure precise and timely communication of trade instructions to relevant custodians and markets, and address any queries raised by market counterparties, clients, fund providers, or internal teams within AJB.
- Generate, update, and distribute reports on failing trade positions and risks. Resolve or escalate issues to the Team Leader/Manager.
- Manage failing trade positions to ensure timely settlement where possible.
- Monitor and manage Crest Member Accounts to ensure onward delivery of stock.
- Manage efficient stock flows through the AJB nominee by utilising external reporting tools (Crest GUI, Clearstream, Cofunds Website).
- Processing certificated stock deposits through the Crest system.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting for MiFID II Transaction Reporting.
- Escalate outstanding issues to the Team Leader / Manager in a timely manner.
- Production of KPI/SLA data and MI as agreed.
- Report any CASS breaches or suspected breaches immediately to the Line Manager.
- Perform root cause analysis on reconciliation breaks and use to implement preventative measures alongside the Team Leader
- Support project implementations, fixes and upgrades through testing of software and defining the needs of the team. Ensuring that all processes and procedures are updated in line with systemic implementations.
- Ensure productive working relationships with other teams by coordinating efforts to develop efficient and effective operational processes.
- Instructing cash movements on the online banking systems & identifying/applying incoming payment.
Competence, Knowledge And Skills
- Previous experience in a financial services administration role desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of banking payment methods (such as BACS, Faster Payments, Debit Card, Cheques) an advantage.
- Ability and commitment to deliver excellent customer service skills
- Competent IT skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work in high pressure deadline driven environments
- Supportive team player with positive approach.
- Willingness to learn and strive for improved efficiency within the Market Settlements Team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Customer service orientated.
- Enjoys working in a deadline driven structured environment, unsupervised at times.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own work.
