The Maths Department at Outwood Academy Normanby, Middlesbrough, is a combination of experienced staff and more recent entrants to the profession, and is given strategic direction by supportive and determined leaders. We have the benefit of support from the Trust's team of expert Maths Directors who provide support, materials, advice, coaching and who model and team-teach in lessons alongside us to develop our expertise. The Department has created a rich and engaging curriculum which has deep roots in teaching for understanding. Our curriculum is differentiated by depth, ensuring all students build firm foundations, develop confidence and retain their learning.

As a Maths teacher you will be required to complete the professional duties that are expected of a UK qualified Teacher in accordance with academy policies and procedures and your subject specialism.
You should promote the achievement of high standards through effective teaching and learning within your subject area, including the preparation, application and development of lesson resources in alignment with the curriculum, as directed by your department head and senior leaders within the academy.
You will be responsible for effective classroom management and the coordinator of class work with any classroom support staff that are present. You must evaluate lessons and incorporate student views and responses to reflect and identify areas of development.
Applicants must hold UK QTS, if trained overseas, have the relevant evidence that your qualification equates to UK QTS.
