Description
BWS is seeking a Mechanical Workpack Specialist to join their team in the UK.

  • Accountable for the preparation, quality and delivery of all information required for their allocated work packs within the agreed milestones
  • Prepare job sketches (or drawings if possible) that clearly identify the scope and materials. Where required these may also incorporate any specific field construction instructions including fabrication, site run and supports
  • Ensure all inspection and operations requirements including agreed isolations are incorporated
  • Preparation of SIP (scaffold, insulation or painting) requests that are detailed and clear
  • Prepare bills of material (BoM) that are correct and accurate - check against approved pipe and/or valve specifications. Clearly identify direct purchase materials or contractor supplied (e.g. consumable)
  • Prepare the Job breakdown identifying all 3rd party requirements and resources hours using agreed norms or estimates
  • Identify any long lead or special items to the appropriate discipline engineer for approval
  • During the preparations phase, take a leading role in developing construction methodologies and schedules which deliver the scope within the system windows. Consider any other scopes, simultaneous operations or SHE/permit requirements to prepare robust and tested plans with the planning team
  • Support permit build for Commissioning as per all site and legislative requirements
  • During the commissioning execution phase, move into a supervisory role and lead the work in the field, coordinating resources, materials, permits and everything necessary to complete the work on time, in budget, to the design intent and to the required HSE and quality standards


Requirements

  • Trade qualification or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in construction supervision and mechanical work pack preparation
  • Strong knowledge of piping, valve specs and understanding petrochemical process hazards and risks assesment
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, Bill of materials, GAs, and isometrics
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications (CAD experience is a plus)
