ALTEN is seeking a Metrologist – Measurement Lead to support a high-precision, regulated environment within the civil aerospace sector.

You’ll be working within an established metrology team, supporting the calibration and inspection of precision hand tools and ensuring accurate measurement and traceability across complex aerospace assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support calibration of hand tools including torque wrenches, measurement gauges, etc.
• Perform recalibrations and produce detailed inspection and measurement reports
• Work to micron-level tolerances to maintain accuracy and compliance
• Investigate and trace tool usage to understand impact and maintain records
• Interface with specification and standards databases (e.g., Team Centre, GANTA)
• Use departmental software: Gauge Insight, Indisoft
  
  

Ideal Skills:

• 3–7 years of experience in a metrology, measurement, or calibration role
• Strong understanding of tool calibration, tolerancing, and traceability
• Comfortable operating in a highly regulated, aerospace environment
• Experience generating reports and identifying tool history
• Knowledge of relevant quality standards is beneficial
• Proactive, able to hit the ground running and work independently or as part of a team
