Role Overview
As a Senior Structural Designer, you will use your creative and innovative skills to deliver high quality structures from conception to final product. This role will involve interpreting client briefs and ensuring that all designs meet their requirements. You will work within a team of 16 other designers ranging from sample makers to principle designers. We are looking for a Mid-Weight / Senior Principle Designer with strong understanding of structural design principles and the ability to make design decisions that will elevate our projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Interpret client briefs and ensure that designs meet all client requirements.
- Apply a strong sense of structural design principles and retailer requirements throughout all projects.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail to produce accurate and impressive designs.
- Contribute as a valuable member of the Structural team and act as a mentor to junior team members.
- Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, to ensure projects meet specified briefs.
- Update project briefs to reflect any changes or new requirements.
- Participate in team debriefs at the end of each project to provide valuable insights and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Stay informed about new products, trends, and processes in the industry to bring fresh ideas and techniques to the team.
- Continuously develop your professional skills and knowledge and contribute to your training and development plan.
- Understanding manufacturing capabilities to help drive costs down & improve efficiencies.
- All other duties as required, relevant to the role.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Extensive POS structural design experience
- CAD experience in Artios or our preferred Kasemake software
- Experience of packages such as Adobe suite and Rhino would be an advantage
- Knowledge of the display designs within the retailer and brand environments would be an advantage
- Well organised with a high level of attention to detail
- Team player with the ability to interact and cooperate with the team
