Please note this is a fixed term role running until 31 July 2025. The role is anticipated to be 24 hours per week (January – June), 40 hours per week (July).

Every two years MIF brings the most exciting artists on the planet to Manchester to create innovative new work – from art and theatre, to music, dance and everything in-between. Taking over our home in the heart of the city, Aviva Studios, and spreading out far across Greater Manchester, the MIF25 programme is our most ambitious yet and we’re looking for an Access Coordinator who can support our teams to deliver on our equally determined plans for access.

This role will lead coordination of activity that directly contributes to the delivery of the access provision at MIF25. The key responsibilities for the MIF25 Access Coordinator include;

  • Lead the process of access auditing MIF25 venues and productions (using a template), working closely with Production Mangers and Producers to gather, summarise, and share relevant access information with the Marketing, Ticketing, and Front of House teams
  • Be responsible for maintaining admin processes within the Access team, including provision trackers, supplier schedules/databases, and information sharing systems
  • Build and maintain relationships with MIF25 co-producing partners and venues, and work with them to facilitate a consistent access offer across the festival programme
  • Be the first point of contact for MIF25 access-related questions or concerns arising from internal departments and external collaborators/partners, escalating issues to Factory International’s Access Manager as needed
  • Manage relationships with access suppliers (e.g., BSL interprets, audio describers, captioners etc.) who are working across the festival programme, and support Producing Admins with project-specific supplier queries
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of access-related audience communications
  • Represent the Access workstream in MIF25 project-specific meetings
  • Provide on-the-ground support where needed during MIF25 – this may include delivering access equipment, contributing to volunteer briefings, managing access supplier movement between festival sites, and supporting artist liaison activity
  • Maintain a flexible and proactive attitude, providing support to the wider Producing and Programme department as needed

The person specification for the MIF25 Access Coordinator are;

Essential

  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and the ability to pick up administrative systems (e.g., Artifex, Spektrix) quickly
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to work effectively across teams and with a range of people internally and externally to drive the delivery of the access workstream
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach to the role – with the ability to resolve issues and make decisions as appropriate
  • A passion for facilitating exceptional experiences for Deaf, disabled, and neurodiverse artists and audiences and evidence of working in any kind of advocacy role
  • Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds

DESIRABLE

  • A strong understanding of the Social Model of Disability
  • Experience of delivering access provision, or other elements of visitor experience/customer service, to a high standard
  • Knowledge of current best practice around access provision and disability
  • Experience of live event production, at any level
  • Knowledge of and a passion for Manchester’s cultural scene
  • Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent
