We are looking for a Motor Claims Handler to join our team in Bradford (BD4) on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role with expectations to work in the office at least two days a week.
Joining our Insurance Department as a Motor Claims Handler, you will oversee a portfolio of claims resulting from road traffic accidents. You'll use a case management system and cutting-edge technology to streamline your daily tasks. Continuous support from a Team Manager and Senior Manager will be available to help you grow and advance in your legal career
What will you be doing?
- Handle a portfolio of road traffic accident cases, including personal injury claims, across Small, Fast, Intermediate, and Multi Track from inception to settlement.
- Conduct thorough investigations into incident circumstances and claim valuations, including legal research, evidence collection, and prospect assessment.
- Prepare, negotiate, and review legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
- Efficiently manage cases to meet departmental targets and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Provide clear and accurate advice to clients on case progression and outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and communication.
- Identify and manage legal risks, escalating issues to your Team Manager when necessary.
- Keep up to date with industry developments, legal updates, and best practices.
- Participate in business development activities, including client presentations, marketing, and networking opportunities.
- Attend meetings with key stakeholders and third parties.
Essential
We tend to look for people with:
- Proven experience in civil litigation and RTA (Road Traffic Accident) cases.
- Comprehensive understanding of CPR (Civil Procedure Rules), case law, and litigation processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail, prioritization, and accuracy.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, capable of engaging with individuals at all levels.
Desirable
- Defendant experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with the OIC (Official Injury Claim) and MOJ (Ministry of Justice) Pre-Action Protocol, along with the Civil Procedure Rules for Low Value Personal Injury Claims, is beneficial.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently as well as collaboratively across multiple teams.
