This includes over 320 professional teams worldwide across a broad range of sports including Football, Rugby, Cycling, Athletics, Basketball, Netball and Swimming. Brand ambassadors include former track cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, an eleven-time world champion and six-time Olympic champion, and Eilish McColgan, who won gold in the 2022 Commonwealth Games 10,000 metres.
PhD Nutrition is a premium, active-nutrition brand for the active lifestyle community wanting intelligent nutrition to help them achieve their goals. With over 20 years of research and development, our products are designed to maximise performance in and out of the gym. It’s an exciting time for PhD Nutrition as 2025 will kick off an entirely new line up of brand ambassadors, from hybrid athletes to qualified sports nutritionists.
The two brands sell through the phd.com and scienceinsport.com digital platforms, third-party online marketplaces including Amazon, as well as extensive domestic and international retail distribution.
In 2022 the company opened a state of the art 160,000 square foot manufacturing and logistics facility in Blackburn, Lancashire. Providing a significant advantage in product costs and customer response time and most importantly, allowing Science In Sport to lead the way for quality standards.
Science In Sport is the nutrition partner to globally recognised elite teams, including Tottenham Hotspur, Saracens Rugby, British Triathlon, Aquatics GB, British & Irish Lions, British Cycling, England Netball and Loughborough Sports. The Role
The National Account Manager (NAM) will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to raise the profile, visibility & awareness of SiS & PhD, and drive profitable revenue growth within the Sport & Leisure sector of our UK Retail channel. This role requires a creative & energetic NAM with a passion for the sports & leisure industry, which will help them make SiS & PhD the leading brands in this sub-channel.

The Work - Your 4 Most Important Responsibilities
New Business – A key aspect of this role is raising the profile, awareness & use of SiS & PhD at 'points of sweat'. To do this you will need to get the brands listed in as many sports & leisure accounts as possible.
Account management - Develop and maintain relationships with key wholesaler accounts maximising sales and ensuring satisfaction. Work collaboratively to open & execute new opportunities for both businesses.
GTM execution – Owning and executing the go-to-market plans across Sport & Leisure to deliver on overall company objectives.
Cross-functional collaboration - Collaborate effectively with key internal stakeholders across multiple functions to deliver on the business objectives and KPIs.
Accountability – What You Are Responsible For Delivering
- Managing the commercial performance of your allocated accounts.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive account plans, outlining short-term and long-term objectives.
- Identifying white space opportunities and converting to new business wins for SiS, bringing incremental sales.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and potential threats.
- Lead negotiations with key accounts to secure favourable terms and pricing which align with business guidelines.
- Creatively coordinate promotions and product launches to enhance brand visibility and awareness.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional & below the line campaigns that resonate with target consumers.
- Continuously monitor sales performance against targets and KPIs.

Attributes – experience and mindset that will enable you to do well in this role.
- Proven experience as a National Account Manager within FMCG is essential.
- Experience working within at least one area of OOH ( Out of Home) channel is essential.
- Experience working within the sport & leisure sector is preferable but not essential.
- BA degree in business management, marketing or a related field is desirable
