Your Role And Responsibilities
Dick White Referrals is offering a one-year Neurology Internship position to veterinarians wishing to advance their clinical training in neurology in view of enrolling in a neurology residency program.
Dick White Referrals is a state-of-the-art, private referral institution located in Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate will join DWRs rapidly expanding team of RCVS, European and American Specialist Clinicians in a wide range of disciplines (anaesthesia, cardiology, clinical pathology, veterinary pathology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, neurology and neurosurgery, physiotherapy, soft tissue surgery, emergency and critical care) and the DWR team of Residents and Interns.
The Intern will be supervised and be in daily contact with the senior neurology team, currently consisting of two ECVN Diplomates and two Clinical Fellows in Neurology. Our centre has modern equipment, including 24/7 availability, an in-house clinical pathology laboratory and cytology, radiography, ultrasonography, fluoroscopy, electrodiagnostic equipment, MRI, CT, a dedicated neurosurgical unit, an intensive care unit and easy access to radiotherapy.
The successful candidate will benefit from both a busy and dynamic clinical environment and formal training. Interns will participate in hospital rounds, journal clubs and are encouraged to attend continuing professional development sessions provided by senior members of staff.
Applicants to the program will be selected on the basis of their written application, an interview and referee reports. Applicants should preferably have successfully completed a 12-month Rotating Internship or have experience in small animal practice. Successful candidates must also have good written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
The candidate must be eligible to work in the UK, be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons or be eligible and hold a valid driving license.
The successful candidate will be expected to start September 2025.
