Full-time, permanent contract
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum dependent on experience
The National Youth Orchestra is the UK’s leading organisation championing orchestral music as a powerful agent for teenage development.
We activate teenagers’ confidence, optimism and skills to play their part in the world today, through performing and sharing extraordinary music.
We are looking for an Orchestra Manager to lead the logistical planning and delivery of the NYO Orchestra’s vibrant residential and concert activities. Your work will be central to creating inspirational musical experiences that transform the lives of teenage musicians. You’ll ensure everything runs seamlessly—from managing rehearsal schedules, travel, and accommodation to coordinating concert logistics and performance materials.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives behind the scenes, enjoys managing complex projects, and remains calm under pressure. You’ll be a clear communicator, highly organised, and confident in collaborating with teenage musicians, families, venues, tutors, and freelance staff.
Your experience in arts or educational project delivery will enable you to create inclusive, supportive environments for teenagers.
At the National Youth Orchestra, you'll be part of a supportive, friendly, and adventurous team where learning and personal growth are intrinsic to every role. Our offices near Holborn in central London are a hive of activity, fostering collaboration, creativity, and innovation. Hybrid working is standard for most roles, within a flexible and encouraging culture. NYO offers a season ticket loan scheme, cycle-to-work scheme, health cash plan, retail and entertainment discounts, and a 24/7 counselling and support helpline.
