Join RWE as a key representative on one of the largest Offshore Construction Vessels in the world. In this dynamic role you’ll ensure seamless communication between vessel crew, onboard project teams, and RWE management onshore. You’ll be responsible for monitoring, recording and reporting all project activities, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Your duties will include attending project meetings, conducting quality inspections and preparing detailed progress reports. Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate risks and contribute to the continuous improvement of future projects by documenting lessons learned.
About The Role
- Representing RWE on one of the largest Offshore Construction Vessels in the world in a rotation system:
- Develop and maintain effective communication between all Vessel crew, onboard project teams and RWE management onshore.
- Ensure accurate monitoring, recording and reporting of all project activities, including all issues or delays, and provide regular and ongoing updates to RWE's onshore project team.
- Attend all project meetings onboard or online as requested, including relevant safety meetings or inspections, and all toolbox talks to ensure works are being properly planned and conducted in a safe manner.
- Be familiar with all contractor RAMS, safety procedures and Emergency Response Plans and ensure these are adhered to by the contractor.
- Accurately prepare and submit detailed Daily Progress Reports and other progress, quality or safety reports as necessary to the project team, promptly highlighting key developments and any issues or deviations.
- Conduct regular quality inspections as and when necessary to verify contractor deliverables are completed as defined and within tolerances.
- Collaborate with project teams and RWE onshore management to identify and mitigate risks that could impact planned operations. Assist project teams with gained experiences in planned office or home based rotations.
- Communicate any variations in procedures and ensure these are properly documented, reviewed and approved.
- Review and approve Daily Progress Reports submitted by contractors to verify accuracy with actual operational activities and timelines, while ensuring these are distributed within good time.
- Where necessary, act on behalf of the Packages Quality Manager and participate in walkdowns, progress monitoring, identification of non-conformances and witnessing in accordance with project Quality Management Plan and Contractor ITPs.
- Record any Lessons Learned for RWE's use in optimising future project planning.
Job Requirements And Experience
- Degree or equivalent in Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering or Nautical Science.
- Interest in project management and its interface to engineering.
- Experience in transporting and installing of large structures, preferably offshore WTG Foundations (e.g. monopiles, jackets, transition pieces, etc.) and understanding of associated interfaces to ports, vessels and schedule.
- Experience with vessel operations and performance tracking (e.g. DP capabilities, Crane Operations).
- Experience in and knowledge of the offshore wind industry including relevant vessel market knowledge plus in the implementation of new technologies.
- Strong team player, self-starting and highly motivated with intercultural communication and negotiation skills.
- A flexible approach to work and the ability and interest to work offshore and at heights.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
Advantageous, But Not Essential
- Specific experience with lifting engineering, vessel stability and roll on/off loading of components.
- Ideally professional experience in project management in the marine or offshore segment.
