This is a great opportunity for an Operational Compliance Manager to join a growing team, responsible for covering all aspects of Compliance that would be expected of an FCA regulated business. This role will operate to ensure compliance of the company’s activities, resources and staff, with the requirements of industry and government lead regulation, within the Frameworks provided by Group Compliance.


Key responsibilities:


Compliance Programme Development and Oversight

  • Establish and maintain a compliance programme aligned with FCA and ICO regulations.
  • Collaborate with Group Compliance to ensure internal frameworks meet regulatory standard.

Risk Management and Regulatory Reporting

  • Oversee the Risk Register and key compliance frameworks (e.g. Consumer Duty, Conduct Risk)
  • Manage reporting for governance meetings and regulatory bodies, ensuring timely updates.

Data Protection and Information Security

  • Implement and monitor the data protection framework, ensuring compliance with data protectionlaws
  • Address data security and incident resolution in line with regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Training

  • Act as a liaising with Group Compliance and regulatory bodies, providing compliance guidance.
  • Develop and deliver training to foster a culture of compliance across the company.


About you:


  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations, including SM&CR, FCA rules for General Insurance, Consumer Duty and Conduct Risk requirements.
  • Analytical Decisions-Making: Ability to make balance compliance decisions that align with business and regulatory standards.
  • Communication and Training: Excellent at conveying compliance requirements to diverse teams; proven ability in training and supporting team development.
  • Organised and Proactive: Strong planning and project management skills to handle multiple initiatives and meet regulatory deadlines effectively.

Our business is run from our waterfront office in Liverpool, which is where the role is based. We are a part of the Howden Broking Group, which is one of the largest insurance groups in the world.
