The purpose of this role is to deliver a high-quality vendor management service across AL and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with the company’s internal policies, PRA and FCA regulations and relevant UK & EU legislation
This manager will also be responsible for people management as required, including coaching and developing.
To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and deliver the continuous improvement of the Supplier Management Framework.
- Champion and support the supplier management lifecycle, governance and controls across AL and its subsidiaries.
- Develop and implement procedures and processes that align with regulations and legislation impacting third party supplier management which includes but is not limited to SS2,21, SYSC 13.9, Consumer Duty accountability and the Modern Slavery Acy 2015.
- Coordinate supplier activities, resolve issues, and build strong relationships between vendors and the bank.
- Engage with key stakeholders and enforce best practice across the whole lifecycle of supplier management from procurement stage through to contract negotiation and award, and supplier relationship management.
- Ensure supplier records are adequately maintained in line with Regulatory expectations.
- Drive exceptional vendor performance through continuous monitoring against agreed SLAs and KPIs and identifying cost and services improvement opportunities.
- Work with external suppliers and internal legal teams to validate and assess contractual terms, providing support and expertise in relation to commercial expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and oversight to business areas when establishing new third-party panels.
- Provide input where relevant with third party selection processes to ensure that we are resilient by design.
- Represent AL on the Hellios Governance Group and various Working Groups as required.
- Support the wider Operational Resilience, and Controls team as required
Risk:
- Responsible for managing the risks detailed in the department’s RCSA on a day-to-day basis.
- Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
- Significant experience of procurement or vendor management led activities is required.
- Substantial experience operating within a regulatory framework with detailed understanding of the regulatory environment and PRA, FCA and EBA requirements in relation to Third Party Risk Management is required.
- Previous experience operating at a similar level in a comparable type and size of business is desirable.
- Ability to deal with new regulations, understand complex issues and build and implement practical solutions.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to deliver accurate and high-quality work.
- Highly developed stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to manage stakeholders at different levels.
- Financial Services background is beneficial.
- Developed IT Competence (including Excel) is preferred.
Communication Skills:
- Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal with colleagues, third party suppliers and senior management.
- Developed negotiation skills.
Qualifications:
- Degree desirable, or equivalent level of experience required.
