Let Us Tell You a Bit About The Opportunity
To support management in implementing the operational risk management framework by offering expert guidance to business units and group functions across all operational risk elements, fostering a collaborative relationship management approach to ensure successful implementation and a culture of ownership, accountability, and responsibility, with expertise in areas such as fraud, business continuity/operational resilience, change and delivery risk, third-party management, transaction processing, and legal risk.
To act as an ambassador of the Bank’s vision to; Back more people to go for it in life and in business.
What will your day look like?
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to implement and embed operational risk best practices, ensuring the operational risk framework is understood.
- Provide assurance to the Board on the reliability of 1st line risk assessments and the effectiveness of the Group’s Risk Management.
- Oversee projects to ensure all related risks are documented, assessed, and agreed upon by relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor material Risk Events, ensuring timely remedial actions and high data quality.
- Review RCSAs for data inconsistencies, working with business areas to address concerns and track actions to completion.
- Support reporting to the NFRC, ensure operational risks are considered in product governance, and assist in producing timely thematic oversight reports.
What do we expect from you?
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant bank risks, issues, and events to enable informed reporting and constructive challenge.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Possess excellent reporting skills, translating data into clear, actionable information.
- Have 5+ years of experience in risk or control roles within financial services, with a proven delivery track record.
- Exhibit excellent communication, organisational, and influencing skills, engaging effectively with colleagues at all levels and drafting reports for senior leadership.
