Location - Head Office – Banbridge, Co Down
Hours - 38 hrs per week. 8.00am to 5.00pm Mon to Thurs & 8.00am to 3.00pm Friday

Alternative Heat specialises in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of Off-site Prefabricated solutions for the commercial M&E sectors throughout Ireland, UK, and mainland Europe. Through continuous investment within our teams, and our facilities, we have grown strongly over the years and established ourselves as a leader within the offsite pre-fabrication industry throughout Ireland and the UK.
Due to a period of accelerated growth over the past year, we now require an established organisational design professional to support us in aligning the shape and structure of our company in line with our strategy.

Role
You will effectively partner and lead discussions with directors, associate directors and senior managers to help define and expand on existing team structures in line with our strategy for growth.
A key focus in this role will be to support senior leadership and line managers in planning and developing current structures to ensure adequate resource is in place and a clear progression path is established for individuals across all departments.
Core Responsibilities of role:
Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conducting organisational assessments to diagnose current challenges and areas needing improvement.
- Using surveys, interviews, and observation to gather data on processes, culture, and employee engagement.
Strategic Development:
- Aligning organisational development strategies with business goals.
- Facilitating strategic planning sessions with leadership to define long-term goals.
Change Management:
- Designing and leading change management initiatives to help the organisation adapt to market changes and internal adjustments.
- Assisting in the communication of change, managing resistance to change, and ensuring smooth transitions.
Training and Development:
- Identifying skill gaps and developing training programs to enhance employee skills.
- Implementing leadership development programs and succession planning to ensure future leadership continuity.
Team Building and Facilitation:
- Facilitating workshops and retreats to promote teamwork, communication, and collaboration.
- Support with enhancing team dynamics to enhance productivity and workplace harmony.
Performance Management:
- Reviewing and refining performance management systems to ensure they are effective and fair.
- Consulting on performance appraisals and feedback systems to support employee growth and organisational objectives.
Organizational Design:
- Advising on structural changes that may be required to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Helping redesign processes or departments to better align with the organisation’s strategic goals.
Culture Enhancement:
- Initiating programs that foster a positive organisational culture and strong work ethic.
- Promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives that support a broad spectrum of employees.
Talent Management:
- Developing talent acquisition strategies that align with organisational needs.
- Implementing retention strategies and employee engagement programs.
Coaching and Mentoring:
- Providing one-on-one coaching to executives and managers.
- Developing mentoring programs that facilitate knowledge sharing and professional development.
Carrying out any other duties deemed necessary by management.

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as:
Business Administration

- Analytical Skills: Ability to assess the current state of an organisation, identify inefficiencies, and recommend structural improvements.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to solve complex issues related to organisational structure and processes.
- Project Management: Leading organisational design initiatives, from concept to execution, while managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to interact with various stakeholders, including leadership, HR, and employees.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage with and manage expectations of senior leadership, employees, and other departments.
- Change Management: Expertise in guiding organisations through change, including restructuring or shifting business priorities.
- Systems Thinking: Understanding how different parts of an organisation interact and impact each other, helping to design more integrated solutions.
- Business Acumen: Understanding the broader business landscape, including strategy, finance, and operations, to ensure organisational designs align with company goals.
- Strategic Thinking: Understanding how organisational design aligns with and supports the company's strategic objectives.
Experience:
- Relevant Industry Experience: Having experience in the industry where you're applying organisational design practices is valuable for understanding specific challenges and best practices.
- Experience in Organisational Development: Having a background in HR, management consulting, or business operations, where you have been involved in redesigning or improving organisational structures.
- Leadership Experience: Experience managing teams, leading projects, or working closely with senior leadership to execute strategic initiatives.
- Consulting or Advisory Experience: Some specialists gain valuable experience through consulting roles, where they work with multiple organisations to solve complex problems.

Certifications:
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CIPD)
- Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) (if focusing on change management as part of organisational design)
- Six Sigma or Lean certifications (if you plan to focus on process optimisation as part of the design)
Technical Proficiency:
- Data Analytics Tools: Familiarity with tools for organisational data analysis, such as Excel, Power BI, or other HR analytics software.
- HRIS Systems: Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, or PeopleSoft) can be useful for understanding how organisational changes impact systems and processes.
