Origination Associate (Contract 3 Months)

Role Summary:

Due to the continuous growth of our business, Transmission Investment is looking to recruit a contract Origination Associate for a 3 month engagement to join the Origination team responsible for driving Transmission Investment’s origination efforts across multiple electricity infrastructure sectors including competitively procured brownfield offshore wind transmission assets (known as “OFTOs”, competitively procured onshore transmission projects under a new regime (known as “CATOs”), and securing revenue contracts for grid stability assets (such as synchronous compensators) which underpin the investment case of those assets. The Origination Associate will initially support senior origination team members who are currently focusing on either leading grid stability asset revenue contract bid processes or OFTO bid and project close processes.

As a junior team member, this role shall support the broader origination function of Transmission Investment and obtain exposure to development, delivery, and operations activities relating to our assets alongside investment case building and financing. The Origination Associate will primarily be responsible for assisting with governance processes, undertaking market research and analysis and assisting with project management activities in relation to bidding or deal execution.

The role will be based in our central Glasgow Office or our head office in the City of London with only occasional travel within the UK necessary. Transmission Investment also has a flexible working policy.

The role will report to a Senior Origination Manager within the Origination team.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Undertake market analysis and research to support strategy, project origination and bidding activities
• Assist with the development of bidding plans, programmes and budgets for the delivery of timely, accurate, compliant and competitive bids
• Support formal internal governance processes, including drafting papers and presentation materials and assisting in managing, record keeping and administrating key meetings
• Collaborate with internal and partner cross-functional teams of highly experienced individuals to gather the necessary information required to produce high-quality deliverables for all projects and other work as required
• Assist with bid consultant engagement and management processes, and assist in coordinating various workstreams
• Coordinate the tender clarification process, including gathering information from various parts of the team, and developing clarifications and responses for submission
• Assist with investment/business case building, gathering key bid inputs, ensuring accuracy of inputs
• Support the wider origination team, ensuring deals, bids and transactions are undertaken and executed efficiently
• Research future opportunities. Building pipeline of future known works and plan ahead all necessary bidding activities

Education, Work Experience & Qualifications:

• Qualified to Degree level or equivalent experience preferred, up to three years of relevant experience with a transmission operator, investment fund/developer or advisor
• Experience working with data and spreadsheet analysis tools
• Experience in assisting with drafting business cases or presentations
• Willingness to learn, work and continuously develop
• Although not essential, the following would be beneficial:
• Knowledge of the electricity transmission or offshore wind sector
• Economics, finance, engineering or legal background
