Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic Paediatric Nurses to join our supportive and forward thinking team in delivering excellent, child-centred care.
Frimley Park Hospitals Paediatric Emergency Department currently sees almost 30,000 children per year between the ages of 0-17 with varying needs ranging from minor injuries and illnesses to trauma and resus.
We have a local and national reputation for delivering a consistently high standard of clinical care, which we are extremely proud of. We believe in part that it is due to the focus on the training and development that we offer to our staff.
With a dedicated practice development lead and staff nurse development programme providing you support in learning and developing key areas such as emergency nurse skills, plastering, minor injury assessment and paediatric life support.
Alongside we offer both internal and external opportunities to develop leadership skills, ED specialist course and departmental SIM.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of a team of nurses, health care assistants and care assistants and be responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating of nursing care.
The fast-paced environment of Paediatrics ED means our staff have to be adaptable in adjusting their priorities as patient and department needs change rapidly. We are looking for motivated and flexible nurses that are able to adapt to this ever-changing environment, whilst keeping patient safety and compassion at the forefront of everything they do.

Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RNC)
- Current (or pending) NMC registration
Desirable criteria
- APLS or equivalent
- Module in emergency care
Experience
- Ideally some post registration nursing experience. Would consider newly qualified based on experience/interview.

- Emergency Department and/or acute care experience
Skills & Knowledge
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- IT literate
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively prioritise and time manage

The Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre; and,

For service Veterans and their dependants, we provide support by administering the Armed Forces Pension Schemes, compensation payments for those injured or bereaved through service, and providing a package of welfare for Veterans. We also provide information and support to service leavers and their families as they leave the Armed Forces and transition to civilian life.
We also manage the Ilford Park nursing home for Polish Veterans and their families.
The positions are advertised at 37 hour per week full time. Part time positions are available.
We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Grade 6 medical advisors to work for Veterans UK. The purpose of this role is to provide accurate verbal and written medical advice and statutory certification in respect of claims, reviews and appeals for the War Pension Scheme and Armed Forces Compensation Scheme. No prior knowledge of the compensation scheme/s is required.
The role can be office based with some homeworking and requires no clinical contact with those applying for the schemes. The successful candidate will annually undertake continuous professional development activity to keep knowledge in medicine and legislation up to date. They will also support operational delivery by demonstrating an understanding of key performance indicators and business pressures.

There are over 900,000 people with dementia in the UK. This will increase to over one million by 2025 and 1.6 million by 2040.
Our client is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Their nurses, called Admiral Nurses - whom they continually develop - provide life-changing support for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease.
Over the last five years, our client have increased what they can deliver for families living with the effects of dementia by significantly expanding their clinical services, increasing their income, and their national awareness. Our clients new strategy see the organisaion continuing this growth, underpinned by a strong structure, stable finances and a great culture.
This is an exciting time to join the organisation, as over the past twelve years, our client has grown from 24 to over 300 staff, from £1 million to a near £30 million charity, and from 84 to 442 Admiral Nurses.
Firmly rooted in the organisations values, this sustainable growth has meant making a real difference to families living with the effects of dementia and the complexities it can bring. Continuing to increase the number of Admiral Nurses is a central part of our clients next strategy, set to launch in September.
