Description

Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.

We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.

Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair and open atmosphere.

We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias, because we want everyone to feel that they belong. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common mind-set.

We recognise that one size does not fit all. Our goal is to embed flexibility across our firm by giving everyone the opportunity to work in an agile way, whether as a regular pattern or on an ad hoc basis, and we will be happy to discuss this further.

We are seeking a highly capable and motivated structured finance paralegal or support lawyer to join our market-leading structured finance group in London. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in structured finance transactions who is eager to play a key role in a fast-paced, top-tier practice. You will support partners and lawyers working on complex deals, handling a broad range of tasks and often acting as a key point of contact for clients, counterparties, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with all phases of structured finance transactions, including securitisations, repackagings, CLOs (collateralised loan obligations), covered bonds, and other capital markets products.
  • Review and assist in drafting transaction documents, including prospectuses, purchase agreements, trust deeds, security documents, and related ancillary documentation.
  • Coordinate and manage conditions precedent (CP) checklists, signature pages, and completion processes.
  • Liaise proactively with clients, transaction parties, registrars, and lawyers across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support management of due diligence processes, including reviewing corporate documentation and compiling summaries and reports.
  • Maintain, organise, and update transaction bibles, closing sets, and data rooms.
  • Conduct legal research on structured finance issues and regulatory developments, summarising findings for more senior lawyers.
  • Provide general support to the structured finance team, including administrative help, research projects, and workflow management.

Skills and experience required

  • At least one year of demonstrable, hands-on experience working on structured finance (or related capital markets) transactions within a top law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Solid understanding of common structured finance products, deal structures, and documentation.
  • Ability to manage transaction workflows efficiently, work to tight deadlines, and handle multiple deals simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent drafting, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proactive approach and proven ability to work with minimal supervision and quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Undergraduate degree plus LPC, SQE or qualified in a foreign jurisdiction.
