Job Summary

As a Partner Accountant, the individual will be in a key senior leadership role with a primary focus on expanding the accountancy arm of the business and building a high-performing, collaborative team. They will take full ownership of revenue-generating accountancy services, driving growth through the delivery of exceptional client service, the identification of new opportunities, and the implementation of scalable processes. This role demands advanced accounting expertise, strategic foresight, and proven leadership capabilities. A crucial aspect of the position involves mentoring and expanding the team to meet growing demand, fostering a progressive culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development.


🎯 What You’ll Own & Lead:

  • Lead the strategic expansion and development of the accountancy side of the business, aligning with overall company objectives.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities within existing client portfolios as well as develop new client relationships to grow the accountancy division.
  • Drive business development initiatives, including networking, partnerships, and marketing strategies to expand service offerings and client base.
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to adapt service lines and ensure the practice remains competitive and compliant.
  • Recruit, manage, and nurture a high-performing team of part-qualified accountant customer service agents, fostering a culture of excellence to support business growth and deliver exceptional client service.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify value-added services and process improvements to support their financial goals.
  • Lead client onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of service.
  • Take full accountability for the performance of the accountancy department, including budgeting, forecasting, and profit & loss management.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and submission of statutory accounts for a high volume of small, limited companies, ensuring full compliance with Companies House and HMRC requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, ethical standards, and internal policies at all times.
  • Use data and reporting to inform decision-making and evaluate departmental performance against KPIs.
  • Represent the accountancy function in internal meetings and contribute to strategic planning at the leadership level.


📚 What You Bring to the Table

  • Partner-led qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • Significant post-qualification experience in a senior role within a professional services firm
  • Strong technical expertise in accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and tax regulations
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, audits, and advisory services
  • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to manage teams and stakeholders
  • Experienced in mentoring and developing junior staff
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective client engagement
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Commercially aware with a strategic mindset to support firm-wide growth
  • Skilled in identifying new business opportunities and driving revenue
