Our Safeguarding Partnerships Business Unit is looking for a passionate and dedicated Partnership & Projects Officer to join our collaborative team and help us deliver on key priorities that make a real difference across the borough.

About The Role

As the Partnership & Projects Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting and coordinating strategic relationships across Southwark’s Safeguarding Children and Adults Boards. Your work will be central to helping the partnerships function effectively and deliver meaningful outcomes.

You Will

  • Assist in the development of partnership strategies, policies, and plans aligned with safeguarding priorities.
  • Coordinate and support learning networks, partnership events, and engagement initiatives.
  • Lead or support research and cross-cutting projects that address key challenges in safeguarding.
  • Strengthen collaborative working across agencies, sharing insights and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Act as an ambassador for the partnerships, helping to maintain a strong external profile and a shared commitment to safeguarding excellence.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

About You

We're looking for someone who is strategic, collaborative, and passionate about safeguarding. You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:

  • Experience in coordinating cross-agency projects or partnerships, ideally in the public or voluntary sector.
  • Strong communication and networking skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • An understanding of safeguarding principles and the importance of multi-agency working.
  • Confidence in organising events, managing logistics, and supporting strategic initiatives.
  • The ability to analyse information, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive delivery on shared goals.

About The Team

The Southwark Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP) business unit is part of the Quality Assurance department within Children’s Services. The team works closely with the Southwark Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) to lead and coordinate multi-agency efforts to safeguard children and adults across the borough.

We are a collaborative and dedicated team, committed to strengthening partnerships, improving safeguarding practices, and ensuring that agencies work effectively together to keep Southwark’s most vulnerable residents safe.
