📍 North Bristol | 💼 Permanent Role

💰 £25,500 – £26,500 per year (including benefits)


We’re looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our team and help manage payroll for a variety of clients. If you’re organised, good with numbers, and enjoy working with people, this could be a great opportunity for you.


You’ll be responsible for making sure people are paid correctly and on time, handling everything from setting up new payrolls to answering client questions. We’ll support your development and even pay for your qualifications to help you grow in your career.


What you’ll do:


  • Run monthly payroll for clients, including things like overtime, holiday pay, and sick pay.
  • Help with year-end tasks like preparing P60s and P11Ds.
  • Work directly with clients to solve any payroll issues.
  • Check payroll calculations for accuracy.
  • Set up new payrolls and pension schemes.
  • Keep reports up to date and help analyse payroll data.


What we’re looking for:


  • A-Level education or similar.
  • Either already have or be willing to work towards AAT Level 2.
  • 1–2 years of payroll experience (either in-house or at a bureau).
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and ideally some payroll software i.e. Sage, Paycircle, or BrightPay.
  • Experience using systems like Sage or Xero is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Able to manage your time and meet deadlines.
  • A team player who’s keen to learn and grow.
