Overview
Gallagher is seeking an experienced and qualified Pension Fund Accountant to provide outstanding treasury and accounting services to our Pension Scheme clients. You will ensure that the accounts for a portfolio of occupational pension schemes are managed to the highest standards and within contractual deadlines, adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Complete the preparation of annual accounts for clients, adhering to SORP and AAF standards.
- Coordinate with clients, account managers, and auditors to finalize accounts within statutory deadlines.
- Maintain integrity across all accounting transactions, including postings and schedule maintenance.
- Prepare investment reconciliations and quarterly financials for client reports.
- Support Actuaries and other professionals with financial information as per agreed timelines.
- Provide ad hoc information to clients, trustees, and other stakeholders as required.
- Review monthly reports, manage bank reconciliations, and attend audit meetings.
- Handle audit queries and complete required HMRC and other returns.
- Offer guidance to Admin teams and assist colleagues as needed.
- Participate in peer reviews, timesheet completion, training, and performance reviews.
About You
- Minimum of 2-3 years in pension scheme or investment accounting with client-facing experience. Recognized accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred, though qualified-by-experience applicants will be considered.
- Strong logical problem-solving abilities, data processing skills, excellent time management, and attention to detail.
- Strong numeracy skills
- Skilled in direct client interaction, excellent written and verbal communication, and feedback delivery.
- A commitment to exceptional customer service with accountability to clients and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, independent, and open to suggesting improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of Cashfac or Open Accounts systems is an advantage.
- Ability to mentor and motivate junior team members.
