Job Purpose / Overview
Responsible for managing the HPC Non-Destructive Testing contract (separate from the installation contract). Oversee standard NDT processes (Radiography, Ultrasonic testing, Dye penetrant testing, Magnetic particle inspection) and Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT). Support the BNI & BOP Piping Engineering Construction Lead in delivering NDT scope efficiently while developing standards and strategies to support EDF Energys timely project delivery.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Experience in NDT and/or contract engineering roles
Rigorous engineering approach to meet high standards
Ability to deliver safely with quality, on time and to budget
Strong leadership and stakeholder influence skills
Autonomous working with good professional judgment
Knowledge of contractual mechanisms and NDT techniques
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Experience analyzing data and managing stakeholder viewpoints

Desirable

Degree in engineering and Chartered Engineer status
PWR design understanding and operations experience
Piping engineering/installation experience
French language skills and CDM Regulations knowledge
Ultrasonic Testing certification
Experience in large integrated project teams
Nuclear sector experience

Contextual Information

Reports to _BNI & BOP Piping - Contract Engineering Lead_ and _Engineering Construction Lead_
Front-line site delivery role requiring flexibility under schedule pressure
Delegated decision-making authority within defined boundaries
Engineering team of 9 engineers (expanding with workload)
Budget responsibility for resource management within defined parameters

Principal Responsibilities

Liaise with NDT Contract Project Manager and Technical Lead
Manage contractor documentation and surveillance plans
Support PAUT implementation as radiography replacement
Address Technical queries and Early Warnings
Coordinate Installation and NDT contract activities
