Street Trading & Event Technical Officer Role Profile
Plymouth City Council leads place-based regeneration across the City and we are looking for someone to support our visitor economy, street trading operation and major public events programme, using technical, administrative and financial skills to help grow Plymouth’s visitor economy.
We currently have a vacancy for a part-time Street Trading and Marketing and Events Technical Officer (0.5 FTE) working within the Economy, Partnerships and Regeneration team. Duties will include assisting with enquiries from the City Centre and Waterfront BID companies, street traders and the events team, supporting the smooth operation of these important services.
Duties will include checking technical documents against requirements e.g. review of risk assessments, processing paperwork, invoices, and street trading licences, processing of financial transactions and dealing with enquiries by phone and email within a busy team environment.
This role will suit a confident person who can work as part of a team and as an individual under their own initiative. This position has good prospects for career development for the right person.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they can apply their technical knowledge and experience to the role.
Training will be provided as appropriate (e.g., PCC financial systems).
Candidates Should
- Be computer literate, and have competent keyboard and MS Office skills, etc
- Have a technical, administrative and/or financial related qualification and/or suitable experience
- Have excellent telephone and communication skills
- Work with a high degree of accuracy
- Demonstrate an ability to prioritise issues
The job will be based at Ballard House offices in Plymouth
