About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the children’s commissioning team as a placement officer. In this role you will be sourcing, facilitating and managing placements for looked after children and care leaving. This is the great position for experienced placement officer who want to expand and develop there experience and those who have worked in similar roles and would like a new challenge.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
You will be working alongside a fantastic team of placements officer, support officer and finance and information officer reporting to the LAC Team Manager.
Key aspects of the role are;
- Experience of working in partnership within multi-disciplinary teams, including work with external agencies and the community to develop and deliver a responsive, personalised, quality and coordinated service.
- Good stakeholder management and the ability to keep lines of communication open and clear, particularly when dealing with emergencies and complex or difficult situations.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to support and develop positive and constructive partnerships with colleagues across departments and settings. Work with other authorities to deliver quality outcomes for customers.
- The ability to work in a high-profile area and take full responsibility in the search for placing Looked After Children.
- Develop close provider relationships with a view to ensure the best outcomes for our children and young people, negotiating fees for individual placements/ services – operating within the guidelines.
About You
- Experience of contract and procurement management.
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, codes of practice, standards and best practice guidance that assists the senior joint commissioner.
- Good planning and time management skills, including ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good interpersonal skills including presentation (verbal and written) and communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with providers, care professionals, users and carers, including reconciling conflicting views and negotiating contracts.
- Good reasoning/analytical skills; ability to work with complex ideas; numerate.
- Experience of working in partnership within multi-disciplinary teams, including work with external agencies and the community to develop and deliver a responsive, personalised, quality and coordinated service.
Qualifications
Degree level or equivalent
